  27.     psnfss I recently reprocessed the .ins files in the 
  28.     again, but this time I used a much loved interactive
  29.     use of the Unix C-shell; namely, I typed the following

  35.     which unfortunately processed textures.ins generating  a 
  36.     palatino.sty as does psfonts.ins, but the latter
  37.     is processed before textures.ins since *.ins expands in lexical
  38.     order. Therefore palatino.sty (textures mode!) is left which is
  39.     is a mistake! (NOTE: When I initially installed I seem to 
  40.     remember that I used the makefile provided in the source 
  41.     directory). Also I didn't install the subdirectory lw35nfss which
  42.     has the correct *.fd *.sty *and* the *.vf files using the more up
  43.     up to date "berry" names such as *0.{vf,tfm,afm}, *q.{vf,tfm,afm},
  44.     *7t.{vf,tfm,afm} 
  45.  
  46.     NOTE: The lib.tar.gz file I obtained from Karl's
  47.     site at ftp.cs.umb.edu didn't have these file names, rather it included
  48.     ``raw'' file formats and no file names of the form described above.
  49.     This was also responsible for some of the problems. Perhaps lib.tar.gz
  50.     could be updated, if it isn't already?

  52.     I have since upgraded by latex kernal with the dec 1, patch level 1
  53.     release and undid all my misdeeds.

  55.     Question: I want to use T1 encoding scheme. I therefore
  56.           want to install the dc fonts and ?sauter? fonts.
  57.           Any advice on how to install these so that the maximum
  58.           possible fonts are possible. I did read the help.eng
  59.           file in the dc directory.
